The Tropical Forest Foundation is a non-profit, education-oriented organization devoted to the preservation of tropical forests through sustainable sylviculture. The TFF is widely recognized for establishing demo models and explaining the advantages and methods of sustainably managed forests to schools.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors includes representatives from industry, government, science, and the academic world. Each member has a real interest in maintaining sustainable management of tropical forests.
The Tropical Forest Foundation has consequently developed the TFF standard with the aim of reducing the impact of forest exploitation.

Energy Star Label

Energy Star is a joint program of the American Department of the Environment and Department of Energy, with the purpose of saving money and protecting the environment through efficient products and practices.

CSTBat Label

The CSTbat label certifies conformity with the Technical Evaluation for innovative products. CSTBat, created and delivered only by CSTB, is a certification of:
- Conformity to a common frame of reference for the entire family of products considered,
- Performance as defined by a value or classification,
- A product or procedure generally bound to a Technical Evaluation.
Products include: decontamination, conduits, PSE slabs, evaluated siding products, apparel, hygro-regulated ventilation
- CANEXEL & COLORPLANK sidings (procedure underway)

CE Marking

Since 1985, in order to ensure minimal levels of safety while facilitating free circulation of goods within a unique Market, the Commission has adopted a new approach for synchronization. It is no longer an issue, as it was in the past, of setting forth detailed technical specifications for the creation of “Europroducts”, but it is a method of establishing general requirements and essential indications concerning safety, health, the environment, and consumer protection.
The directives of the new approach also make the respect of “essential requirements” obligatory, as well as the placement of a visual symbol that demarcates products that conform to these requirements: the “CE marking”. These directives reflect synchronized European standards, which translate essential requirements into technical specifications.

CSTB Technical Evaluation

The Technical Evaluation is delivered by the "Commission responsible for compiling Technical Evaluations " (created in application of the decree of December 2 1969). This replaces the former CSTB Agreement.
About twenty expert groups representing builders manage the delivery of ATec and DTA in the widest fields of application: structures, thermal and acoustic insulation, water treatment, floor surfacing, windows, climatic engineering installations…
The Technical Evaluation is intended to provide all participants in the construction process with an authorized opinion on new products, procedures, and equipment, and to define their usage. It principally indicates in what capacity the procedure or product:
• satisfies active regulations,
• is suitable for on-site use,
• has durable characteristics.
